I bought a CDI-500 cd player, and this thing called the memory bucket indicator for thoughs who dont no what im talking about, ill write what it means from my manual. it says hat the indicator serves two functions. the black bucket outline details the cue memory status, a full bucket outline indicates the cue memory is full. the five bars in the memory bucket detail the anti-shock memory state. each bar indicates 2 seconds of the digital anit-shock. Now when i play a song from a cd, which is from a CD-R, and when the song reaches the end, say about around 8seconds, the bars on the memory bucket go down, and when they are gone, my song stops at the very end like around 4 sec left of the song, sometimes it well repeat in a loop between 6sec to 4sec then back to 6 in a loop! Can someone tell me why this is doing that?
thank you.

Hi Transparent,
Welcome to the forum. The memory bucket, is just an indicator of how much memory is available for advanced features like scratching and looping.

I have three questions for you.
Is this a newer CDI-500MP3?
Are you playing a burned audio CD, or MP3 disk?
Did you finalize the CD?

I have never experienced a problem like you are describing, so any more detailed info you can give, may help us find the problem. My best advice is for you to call support at 800 322 6337.

Nope, there just brand new CDI-500 i got them about 2 weeks ago, the cd-r that im using are Fujufilm. and what do u mean by finalize the cd?
i was reading on here on how the CDI-500 can pick up the smallest error on a cd, and my burnt copys where way above 4x speed, so i change it to 4x and burnt a new cd, and now for some reason that problem doesnt happen, but i dont no why it does.

On the topic of the memory bucket I will try and give some advice from my experiences with the PS2. I have one cd-r a friends gave me that when i select the last track, the memor bucket never comes on. I asked if he had finalized or closed the cd, and he wasn't sure, so I think this was the problem. Without the memory bucket, it isin't possible to store cue points from that track.

So make sure you close the session or close the cd when you burn.

good luck
