I was practicing on my ps2 and when I first started out I put in a cd-r...to my surprsie it didn't play. It was funny because just yesterday it played that same exact CD with no problem. I'm kind of scared because I don't want that to happen when I'm doing a gig. Someone has a TIP!!!

It will basically come down to cd-r quality. If they are cheap brands they will give you inconsistant play. That goes for most cd players. I've had to throw away whole spools because of quality. I stick to the same three brand names now and no problems.

2 x SL-1210 M5G
2 x SL-DZ1200
DJM 800/ 909
MV 8800/MPD 32/Axiom 61/FL Studio 8XXL/Live Lite 7
Dell Inspiron 1721 @2.2 GHz w/ 4 gig ram, 250 hdd/ SynchroScience Torq v.1.0.6

Tigrsharc,
I know what you mean, but the funny thing is that..ok check this out...I burn the cd's from my computer (I use Imation & Gold) after I burn it I try to put it in my PS2. Only one PS2 will read it. Or it will take forever for the PS2 to even acknowledge the CD. what's even more weird is that I have previous burned CD's that will play with no problem in that one PS2, and I burned those at higher speeds. I think it might be the computer as well. I don't know. I gets frustrating because I done burned like 10 different CD's hoping it's the computer. I don't know what else to do. I have so much music on my computer I wanna put it on CD. Not to mention I have a little Gig on my camp tommorrow. Some of that music is really good!! Can someone give me type of reasoning behind it?? Thanks

It sounds like the laser is either dirty or out of allignment on the one PS2. Hyp are you in a position where you can contact tech support? Or are you oversea's currently?

DJ Stevie Ray have you ever cleaned the laser on any of your American Audio players? If so how?

I can call them, but as far as sending it in It will take awhile for me to get it back because I am overseas. I'm in IRaq, but stationed in Germany. It's just really weird because regular cd's play perfectly....Its just those ones I started burning. Imma call Tech Support and see what they say!!! I'll keep ya'll posted!!!

I use a stand alone burner myself. The discs to burn on are quite a bit more price wise, but there is never a problem playing them anywhere with any equipment.
