Hello, and welcome to the forum!

The CDI-300 does have a brake effect.
See Stevie's tips below.

Sure it does Wink

You can either.....
Take the unit out of scratch mode and turn off tempo lock.
Then start by spinning the jog wheel backwards slowly and increase the speed of the backspin. The faster you spin the jog wheel. The quicker the brake effect will be.
or.......
Again turn off tempo lock it doesn't matter if it's in scratch mode with this method.
Set your pitch range to +-100%, then simply slide your pitch range from 0 to -100% thus giving you a brake effect.
