recently purchased one of these for $50 on craigslist and thought something must be wrong with this thing. It gave me problems and did not want to read a disk but i cleaned it and its flawless. very impressive for an older piece of equipment. anyone use these for turntablism? its not that easy as with my technic 1200's

I used them for years, but haven't had one in a few years. They are awesome. Great scratch simulation, and the master tempo is as good as Pioneers

Kapitalkev, I used to own a pair of PS2s when they first came to AU, at the time the concept/design was in a class of its own. Then I started having problems with them, overheating, disk reading problems, distortion/noises etc etc, just too many problems to rely on them 100%, I eventually got rid of them. For turntablism they are ok, if you have good turtablism skills on another medium (ie. on turntables using vinly) I gues these would be very easy to scratch on.

ROQ out.

I still own a pair of the ProScratch 2's. They are a great tabletop cd player and I never had any problems with them. They do get very warm so it is important that you keep them well ventilated. I also like the fact that they are smaller than "other" tabletop players especially for mobile work.

And yes, I'm Back Wink

Can you be more specific when you say software. I imagine you are referring to a DJ software for your computer. American Audio has a program that will work for a really decent price. There are also programs that you can use your system to control the music to dj with from your computer... ie... programs such as Torq or Serato. Let me know what your needs are and I can see if I can help.
