I JUST WANNA KNOW IF THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ANY ONE ELSE OUT THERE ,I HAVE HAD MY PS2'S ABOUT A LITTLE OVER A YEAR NOW AND THEY HAVE BEEN WORKING FINE UP UNTIL LAST WEEK ,WHEN I PLUGGED THEM IN AND THERE WAS A DISTINCT POPPING NOISE AND THE UNMISTAKEABLE SMELL OF SOMETHING BURNING . WELL NEEDLESS TO SAY THEY STOPPED WORKING,THEY ARE NOW "DEAD".SINCE I LIVE IN THE CARRIBBEAN I HAD TO TAKE THEM TO MY LOCAL TECH ,WHO HAS INFORMED ME THAT BOTH THE CONTROL BOARD AND BUFFER BOARD ARE NOT FUNCTIONING.SO NOW I GUESS I HAVE TO GO TRU THE HASSLE OF ORDERING THEM TRU CUSTOMER SUPPORT,AND OF COURSE THERE IS THE EXCHANGE RATE INVOLVED(6.25 FOR ONE US DOLLAR) ANY CHANCE OF AH DISCOUNT FROM SUPPORT?

You said you've had them only a year, you should still be covered under warrenty. The only way you wouldn't be is if you intentionally damaged your players from neglect of some sort. Not checking proper voltage, grounding so on. Did your players run hot when they did work? Cool
