Mine was a mixed bag. First, I'm not into fireworks, so I guess that puts me at a disadvantage. Of fireworks, all I care for are professional done shows. Safety, better show, less stupidity(I hope).

I won't go into the stuff that really pissed me off. It's stuff pertaining to my personal life, which lets face it, none of you give a crap about.

Around Sacramento, idiots tend to start blowing stuff up as soon as the stuff is made for sale. but let my clarify. This means that "as soon as the state lets them sell the Safe and Sane fireworks, people start blowing stuff up". This means small bombs, M80's, cherry bombs, and other fireworks that fly up into the air(all not safe and sane), as well as the safe and sane stuff.

Detonations got bad around July 3rd, wiht the big orgy of bomb frenzy hitting on July 4th. I saw more flying fireworks than safe and sane stuff. Everywhere. From 6PM to well past 2AM, idiots were threatening the various dry fields, roofs, fences and other properties. The bangs got bigger as the night turned to morning.

But apparently the festivities weren't over on the 4th as idiots on the 5th were still celebrating.

On the positive note, local news this year wasn't filled with reports of fires due to fireworks, safe and sane or otherwise. I hope this was the case.

I hate two potential gigs for July 4th, neither amounted to anything. Oh well.

On the 5th, I took my family to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom(so you stalkers can get an idea of about where I live...). Caught some critter shows, went on a bunch of lame-o rides. Can't go on good rides when you have small kids! Funny part was one of the macaws during the bird show flew away. I'm sure it's been recovered, but it kind of messed up that part of the show. Dolphin show was great. Plenty left to do for our third trip down next month or later this month. We're season pass holders.

I also had my previous week occupied with dealing with an ICH outbreak in my small fish tank. It took out 2 large clown loaches, 2 small ones and an oscar. The oscar was being grown to go into the "monster" tank. Can't treat as aggressively with loaches. Twice daily water changes, extra heat and half dosages of medication. Suriving fish seem happy except for the surviving large clown loach. Clown loaches like to be in groups. We'll get a group of 4 in a few days and they can form a new family.
