I am currently testing some things to help with the sucurity pop ups/

Here are some suggestions they work on most, but not all of te security settings.

Go to tools>Internet Options
Go To Security Tab
Click On Trusted Sites and hit Default Level.
Then Click the Sites button
Uncheck the Require server verification...
and add
https://forums.americandj.com
http://www.americandj.com
http://americandj.com
Click OK

Then click on Custom Level
Scroll Down under Miscellaneous
Click Enable under "Allow Web pages to use restricted protocols for active content"
&
"Display mixed content"

This should get rid of the security pop ups while browsing the forum, but you will still get the certificate warning when you first enter the forum.

You may still also get a security warning when making a new post or thread, I am still trying to figure that one out.

Even better:
Have ADJ purchase their own security certificate. That would be the best method.

I'm not talking about the certificate pop up.

I am talking about the this page contains secured and non-secure data.

The reason for that is, is because the page has some https: links and some http: links. And yes I agree tey do nee to update the certificate.

I personally can't understand why a web board would need a secure sockets layer.

My own web board, which is non-functional since I haven't properly re-configured the CGI since I re-did my web server(and will be re-doing it again soon with a new server, so why bother), did not require https. Of course, the registration process on my web board lacks in features I would like. It gets the job done, WHEN the perl script is properly configured.

Like I said, I'm re-doing my web server soon. Fedora on a new machine(well, new assembly, no new parts except the HD will be new). Gonna have the machine do my external DNS properly too. My current DNS solution is crappy and unreliable.

To whom it may concern,

I hope you guys like the changes made to the American DJ Group of Companies forums, i.e. the lack of annoying SSL auth pop ups etc. Thank you for all your concerns and hope you continue to post on our sites.

Happy New Years,

James Muzzarelli

HEY! i don't think so stevie!! but i had a moderator question aswell. can u give new mod powers? i am a lighting moderator on another dj forum and when they ask me about lighting products i always send em to the adj web site. and i am pretty knowledgeable about lighting in general. stevie can back me up on this (right stevie?) so i was wondering if i could be a mod for the adj lighting forums? thanks best regards! jingles!

p.s. if u question my abilities to moderate u can check for your self just simply go to digital 1200 forums!! and look for the lighting section and check out my work! peace! jingles! Smiler
