Are you talkng about a burning sensation or are actual flames shooting out?

All the difference between a "flaming" and a "scortching" case of "insert questionable affliction of choice here".

So the last few gigs I have been on, I haven't really had a chance to take some shots of. So once again, as requested for by Jingles, I present: Demetri Martin at Rowan University

Yes, he actually goes through and explains what each of those things is on the banner.

Great, easy show. They sold out with 1,200. Demetri is a great guy to work with. Very laid back and easy going. Also thankful after the show for the help, as well as the clarity with regards to the audio. And now for the gear heads:

Lighting
HES Road Hog
8x DLED 36 MH
6x Opti 30 RGB
4x ETC S4 Leko, 19 Degree
2x ETC S4 Leko, 26 Degree
2x DP-640B Dimmer Packs
1x Opti Branch 4

Sound
3x McCauley M90 a side
1x McCauley M120 a side
2x McCauley SA288 a side
2x EV QRX 112 (Center Fill)
4x EV FRi-2082 (Monitors)
2x Crown MA5002
1x Crown MA1202
2x Crown MA2402
1x DBX 4800
1x Ashly 3102
2x DBX 2231
3x Shure SM58 ULX-P

We didn't need the center fills since the set the chairs up about 15-20' away from the stage, so the 120s covered it just fine. The stage was 24' wide by 20' deep by 4' high. The scenic was a 4x SQ-4114 (9.84') and 4x SQ-4109 (1.64') from Global Truss. Then a couple of 8'x8' spandex pieces and a bunch of drape.

Nice set.

Yeah, I'm finding "celebrities" in two categories recently:
PITA or laid back. Not a whole lot in the middiel.

I get more of the laid back ones these days, who I practically have to kick their butts to let them know "yes, you can have exactly what you want in your monitor mix" and get them to speak up about it. Warp11 was almost like that, but they know me and I know them. It's just they are so used to nothing that it takes them a bit to realize "oh wait, this guy knows his stuff and has the gear to do what we want up here on the stage".

I find sometimes comics are too easy. Cosby didn't want any monitors, just the lav, which was a bit of a pain to notch out a few fequencies. Bare stage with a chair. Leno had some "decoration" suggestions, and only a few monitors down super low. Ron White: outside of his props(stool, scotch, tumbler with ice, cigars), just got a wireless mic and was happy with that although he seeed to really want wired but you'd never know. Joan Rivers was a pain not because of HER, but rather she and Don Rickles(also easy) had a little orchestra that had lots of necessary requirements. But, when you break it down do those two comics, again, its a joy to work with professionals like them.

Nice to see Demetri Martin's new-found success has merely been a tool for him to work the way he wants to work and keep it at that. I can't really get into his stuff, but always nice to hear about a new celebrity who is avoiding the road to being a jerk. Let's hope he stays that want and has a long career(or at least as long as he wants)

Its actually surprisingly easy once you get to a certain level. I have worked for more celebs then I can remember at this point. Done a few Oz Fests, couple Wrapped Tours, Live 8 here in Philly in 2005 along with the big 4th of July party, Bon Jovi, Jimmy Buffet Salty Piece of Land Tour, Paul McCartney Back in the US Tour, Rolling Stones Bigger Band Tour, Toby Keith a few times now, Kayne West, Barry Manilow, Kenny Rodgers a few times, Bill Cosby, David Copperfield a few times (please don't ask me about that one either, under contract not to talk about it), Mark Farner, John Eddie a lot, Sister Sledge, the Flobots, Jazzy Jeff a few times, and those are the ones I can remember off the top of my head. Then there is all the political stuff, but I am not allowed to talk about that either. Most of those, I was a house spot or a truss spot. A few I have designed and/or run lights for. But yea, the list goes on and on. I will have to write it all down one of these days.

Creed I did do once long ago. It wouldn't surprise me since the Impression is a fantastic light and there still really isn't anything like it out there right now. Also, the coming additions to the Impression Series look promising as well.

You already know my thoughts on the Design Series. It is leaps and bounds above the Power Series, but you do pay more for it however. I still want/need to get some DS 250 Pro's and also thinking about a couple of DS 300 Beams for on stage stuff to really cut through haze and give a search light effect. Boys with toys and the only difference between men and boys is the cost of their toys.

Lots of Beam fixtures, didn't like like Design Series though. Also a bunch of LED fixtures for wash. Couldn't really get a good look at them, but looked almost like Main Light's MF/3 with the way they were lined up. Too big to be Color Blasts and too small to be Color Blazes.

ya But there was a free web cast of their show on the 25th. And on the stage for washing the cat walks in the back and behind the drum riser there are what looks to be either our dled 50 bricks. The ones that look like the martin stage bar. And also hanging over head looked like either our power spot 700's or maybe the 1200 Compact. I really couldnt tell and i dont think i am going to the concert any time soon to get a closer look. you would figure though PLSN would cover something about this though.

So once again, it is time for Just for Jingles. Have some stuff from over the weekend I can post finally. First up, Eve 6.

Specs

Lighting
6x Design LED 36 MH
8x Opti 30 RGB
HES Road Hog
Opto Branch

Sound
6x McCauley SA422
6x McCauley SA288
4x EV QRX115
1x EAW LA118z
2x Crown MA5002
1x Crown MA600
3x Crown MA2402
1x DBX Drive Rack 260
3x DBX 2231
1x Digi Design Venue 48
1x Allen & Heath GL3300

Great band to work with. Lead signer/bassist is real laid back and easy to mix. Guitar player takes a bit to get dialed in, but once he is there, he is golden. Drummer is real easy as well. There FoH Engineer, well, let's just say he is a bit unrealistic and wants the world. I will leave it at that...

Lol, I just realized I am in that last Eve 6 photo.

Thanks Jim. Those were some of the easier gigs I have been on. The Wyeth/Pfizer merger has been killing me.
