Hey yall'

I need some expert mix meister advice. Im in a show in March and for the curtain call I thought it would be cool to do sort of a Megamix with the songs from the show. I rememeber Stevie did a cool mix a coupel months back and was wondering how do I go about doing somrhting like this...like the songs BPM's var so much how do i pick a beat and stick with it and mix it etc? Sorry I dont do much megamix work....just editing and mastering. Ive got Sound Forge is that sufficient for what i want to do?

Actually if you want to do a true megamix. Short pieces of the hot parts of tracks, what I do is load all the tracks I wish to use as wav files (you don't want sound degredation). Then I open each file in Acid (you can use Acid studio for $69 from most electronic stores) to extract the BPM. I then use Soundforge to crop the song to the part of the song I wish to use and resave the new versionof each track. I then use Acid to paste the tracks together, and give it some flavor if I need to add some drums or beats to the mix. There are 1000's of ways to do this, but this is what works for me.

well, once a song is beatmapped in acid and u've figured out the speed that u want the mix to be.... u just lay the tracks down and they will automatically be at the same speed .....so all u need to do is figure out where and when u want the tracks/loops/samples to come in....
