Hey, Thanks Again Mike.
I've seen the Aggressor lights {Looks like a beget diamond} 6 or 8 small light on top of each other..."Why am I explaining this to a lighting
Man?" Confused . The answer is I would rather go with DMX to start off with, learn the best first. I was just wandering what you thought of the low ends stuff like that of the Aggressor, Stardust, and multi 4 light package systems?
"Sorry to pick your brain so", I learn more from someone who knows the pitfalls first hand, rather than the reviews of the "would be's".
Next, can Par Cans be controlled through the DMX,
and are these controllers pre programmed by the user, or is this something that is controlled from the stage with a set pattern already programmed in the DMX Controller. By the way I saw the crank rack system and I agree "A must have item".............. Big Grin .................
Last, I want to that you for your time and help, I would like the right things first that's why I find the words here far exceed that someone can explain at the local music shop. thanks again.
The Bigguy. Cool

i know exactly what your talking about and i'm glad I can help you out. To answer your questions... yes par cans can be controlled through dmx however it requires you to use a dmx dimmer pack. The par cans plug into the dimmer pack and the dimmer pack is controlled by your dmx controller. Most dmx controllers require you to program "scenes" into the controller. For example, each par can is assigned a channel. So let's say you have a green par can, blue, and yellow par can and red. Green could be channel 1 , blue channel 2, yellow channel 3, red could be channel 4. So you would set channel one (green) to the desired level of brightness you want press record and that would be scene 1. You then would go to scene 2, adjust the levels of the par cans depending on the effect your trying to achieve then press record again that becomes scene 2. you can then program chases, a chase is a grouping of scenes that run in a specific order. I would suggest getting the dmx operator pro console, this board will give you the best of both worlds. One side is dedicated for par cans and one side allows you to control "intelligent" fixtures ie. moving heads, scanners etc.

hope I answered all your questions, if you have any more feel free to ask them lol

good info, thanks.
I wondered if you hand a bad experience with the low end lights, because you don't seem to like to talk about it much?..I saw a post a while back about a DJ that wanted a low start up system for $500.00 dollars, and was given two very good choices.....I would like to ask you, if you would not mind to try to suggest a good stat-up system for a budget of no higher than $500 dollars. Lights only the rack is something of a preference and would not be included because of the fact of, do I want to muscle it or make it simple? {easy answer I Know?}
thanks The Bigguy Smiler

MR ICE thats a pretty impressive setup. I was wondering do you have a drop cloth or something you use to cover up all those cables, it looks rather messy as it is? Apart from that its a great setup.

ROQ out.

well most of the cables in the first pic are not mine

i was teaching at a summer camp and they use my equipment fo a dance they hold. they have need of 10 mics for solos and singing.

the second one is just mine at home for fun

i think i should get a banner that will be the plan to make it look better. but most of those cable would be wraped closer to the stands and the truss if it was a gig Smiler

thanks btw

Ice
