I am a drummer in a Country/Western/Pop band, and recently purchased (4) DJ scans RG and an Operator 2, along with a Category III fogger and 2 Sparkle lights. We already had 12 par cans, trussing, etc...
I am awaiting the arrival of the intelligent lights in a few days, and have downloaded and read the manuals for all of the above. However, much is still greek to me, and I wondered if any of you have some recommended reading (or video training tape) to get me up to speed on how to get using this gear the fastest and easiest. Of course there is auto mode, but I am looking to set up a few basic slow-moving spots and gobo scenes, then figure out the rest later. We do have a sound man that can run the lights, but he is clueless on DMX control. Thanks in advance.
email support@americandj.com and request the Video on the DMX Operator it should help a lot or if you need help sooner call 800 322 6337 from 8:30 to 5:00 pacific time

Thanks DJ SOUND... first question, how much is too much fog (in elapsed minutes)? Doesn't this stuff cause respiratory problems if overused? How long do you typically have to run a cycle of fog before shutting it off, let's say to cover a 400 sq.ft. stage? I am only looking for enough to show off my (4) DJ Scans..
it causes respiratory problems on people with athma(sp). i use in every5 minutes ifi posible depending on how big the place is. your fogger can prab stay on for a whole night. usualy my fogger work 6-9 hours a night depending on the occasion and i never shut it down. another reason to leave it on is because the heater gets/stays hotter which mean that u can use more fog befor stoping to let it reheat.
