Hey you all DJs, got booked already for this nice day!? ^^

Well anyway, I got book for one hotel's party. I am not sure what to play but I am used to play Trance and Hardtrance in general.

Do you think I should just put a bit of commerce there or just to play what I play generally?

Any ideas are welcome!

VR-Fist you need to communicate with the person holding the event to find out what they expect you to play. You also need to consider what the theme of the night as well, like is it a dinner-dance or is it a straight out rave from start to end. Is it a private or public event? With that in mind you shouldn't limit your playlist to only 1-2 styles of music. NYE is probably the biggest party event of the year for everyone, you have to be prepared to play it all especially commercial dance music, its expected on NYE. Hope this helps, good luck.

ROQ out.

For NYE you are going to have a mixed crowd. Expect the ages to range from the young to the old, so you want to be prepared.

Find out from the client what they expect the oldest person to be there is. My formula is age seven starts the really formative years; that's when you really start hearing and appreciating the music on the radio. So, let's say the oldest is sixty; that means they were born in 1944; add seven to that and you have 1951. In that case you'd want to have some 50's and higher music.

Another way is to subscribe to one of the on-line services. Hopefully DJ Intelligence won't be asterisked out because that is the service I use. They give me the ability of setting up a group and letting folks put in their requests up to a day ahead of the event. The selection is based on a list of the songs in your library that you upload. I have had some very good results from this; my client's guests like having the ability of putting their requests in ahead of time.

Then stick with the current Club and mainstream hits. Not sure if your crowd is into Hiphop etc or Trance/dance... If its the first then Stevie and the rest of the gang can help you out.

If its trance/house/club/dance etc you seek, then ill make sure your party is a smash hit Wink

Our DJ Team totally hate Hip Hop. We play trance/hardtrance/rave/dance/mainstream mostly.

I like Paul Oakenfold - Dread Rock but I can't get a mixable version Frowner

Rock Your Body Rock I've got on vinyl since it came out in Jan 2004. Loved Azure Remix from the first listen but I don't think ppl would get it so well. I think we need more commercial music to keep them up. They need their tunes from their radios.
