I was wondering if any DJ's out there know if it's possible to get a version of Steppenwolf's songs "Magic Carpet Ride" and "Born To Be Wild" without that long instrumental piece in the middle of the song. People really like dancing to these songs until it gets to the instrumental part and then they get bored with it. I don't even know for sure if they ever recorded a shorter version of these songs. I would sure appreciate any information anyone has on this subject.

Don't know about a version without instrumental, but if you really wanna get Steppenwolf "Sizzlin'", pick up Phillip Steir's mix of migic carpet ride. Don't think it'll work at the old folks home, but it'll definatly get the high schoolers/clubbers bumpin'. Don't know about Born To Be Wild....but same theme, sample some remixes to see what might suit your audiance. Wink

I posted a reply on new topics for you. I guess I should have just done reply to this post. Any way. Check out a version of Magic Carpet ride by "CRYSTAL METHOD" Still uses the original John Kay vocals but done to a dance style beat, and still manages to maintain the original raw sound. It also doesn't have that instrumental part in the middle. I know that part is cool, however not for the dancefloor eh!!!
