I have a CD binder case. the cheap ones you buy with white sleeves. I thought it would do the same job as the good one like cdproject binder, but I guess not. Just recently, I bought good CD case to fit my 300-400 CDs, but I need to know what are good CD sleeves to buy that doesn't scratch your CDs. A lot of my CDs are scratched and I need to know what are good ones to buy? I need to know as soon as possible since I would like to transfer all my CDs into the crate/DJ CD case that I bought for my upcoming gigs. I bought 25 pack of clear CD sleeves. I thought would be good from the dollar store. I wanted to buy cheap sleeves just to send my sister some movies to Greece. I thought it would be good for my music CDs for my crate as soon as I brought it home. But how can you tell if the plastic sleeve is good enough so it won't scratch the CD? I also want to know what is the best way to fix scratches on a CD small or deep scratches?

I use Univenture sleeves. They have room for the booklet / graphic, and a nice soft back to protect the CD. See them here: http://www.idjnow.com/StoreModules/ProductDetails.aspx/...-CategoryID=--DeID=0

To remove scratches, I use one of the Disc Doctors. Motorized, with some spray. Does a decent job. Although, I wouldn't use it for a few stray scratches. Only if the CD was unplayable.

Thanks for replying, but how do I know if it won't scratch my CDs? How do I know if I go to the dollar store and buy a 50 pk for $1.00 or if I go to a good electronic store and pay $3.00 for the same pack but name brand? If I pay more do I get better quality so it doesn't scratch my CDs? I would like to know because I have to buy CD sleeves tomorrow. What are good to go with, expensive or cheaper sleeves? I need clear sleeves.

Now with the disc doctor why shouldn't I repair small scratches? And how many times can I use disc doctor? Cause I have seen those CD repair systems before and I read it only does 20 or 50 repairs. So do I have to buy a new repair system after that? How do they work?

Thanks!

While the price of something does not always reflect its quality, it is usually a good indicator. Usually. Smiler

The sleeves I linked to have a clear front, and a white back. The white back is a soft cloth-like surface that protects the CD. The front is clear, and you can see the CD through it. You could also put the CD booklet in the front, or a track listing, to make finding your music easier. If your dollar store holders are similar, then try them.

Also, the sleeves I mentioned are a soft, flexible plastic sleeve. They are meant to be used in a hard case, like an Odyssey or similar.

For the CD fixer: I wouldn't use the Disc Doctor, unless the CD was skipping bad, or unusable. The way the Disc Doctor works is it grinds away the top layer of the disc to make it uniform. If you do the same disc too many times, you may do more harm than good.
The Disc Doctor uses fluid to aide in the repair. When the fluid is used up, you can just purchase more fluid, not a whole system.

I second the univenture sleeves. All the big subscription services use Univenture (Promo Only, TM Century, X-Mix, ect.) This gives you an ideal of who trust's them.

Don't buy the ones from PSSL. They are a cheap imitation and will not hold up. I buy my sleeves from Promo Only.
