I just go my new RADIO TRAXX discs and there were 2 really good songs on this one. One by Mr. VEGAS called "Pull Up" labeled as Reggae, and one by PITBULL ft. LIL JON called "Culo" (Main Mix) labeled as Urban. I thought the two of these would really go good together, they both had the same beat. Actually they had the same intro too. Then it dawned on me these songs are identical exept for some of the lyrics. Whats the deal with these songs. Is Mr. Vegas part of PITBULL. Fill me in, please. These two songs are too close to being identical.

They are not affiliated.

The beat is a reggae riddim, i forgot the name, but there is like 15 tracks with that beat.

the most popular ones being:

Mr. Vegas-Pull Up
Pitbull/Lil John-Culo
Elephant Man-Jook Gal
Nina Sky-Move Your Body

What you mean there are more songs that sound identical to the 2 I listed??? LOL. Too much. Good song though. Or should I say songs. So one guy comes up with a good beat and everyone else jumps on the bandwagon and copies it??? I've heard songs that sound similar before, but these are like I said, almost identical. Great for beat matching I guess. I thought the Radio Traxx company made a mistake and recorded the same song twice but used separate titles. I was almost ready to call em up and tell em, but then I listened to them a couple of times more and discovered they are a bit different, lyric wise.
Thanks for filling me in.

Just got my new Hott Traxx Radio disc and that one by Nina Sky was on that one. It is the very same beat eh.
What about the song Jook Gal By Elephant man? Is that a newer song? Haven't got that on any of my discs yet? Just curious.

juke gal has been out for a while now.... and yes.... the beats all seem to be the same but its just like techno..... alot of tracks have the same drum pattern (ie, kick-hat-snare-hat-kick-hat-snare-hat, and so on) the only way u can tell the diff is by bass line, lyrics and so on...

yeah, I know Fobster, but these songs are so similar it is bizarre. Especially the Mr. Vegas, and Pitbull versions. Makes it easy for mixing I guess.

Well Reggae is all based around "Riddems". When something works, you will get a bunch of the same "riddems" ie Heads high, Traffic Blocking, blah, blah, blah, ect, ect, ect. One of the most popular "riddems" of all time was probably "liquid riddem". This is why you get allot of reggae songs of a particular time period that sound the same.
