Hi MJ, welcome to the forum!
This topic has come up several times, you may want to Search (in the upper-right part of web page) on "removing vocals".
In any event, no program, that the average human can purchase, can remove vocals (or music) 100%. It's mostly done with EQ adjustments, or stereo seperation. You're better off just getting the 12" vinyl of a song. There's usually an instrumental (and an 'a capella' or vocals only) version on the record.
In any event, you may want to try Sound Forge, or WaveLab. Two decent programs for audio manipulation.
[Edit] Actually, if you just look at the post under this, you may find your answer[/Edit]

heheheh..In "The Record Crate", there's a thread actually labeled "How to Remove Vocals". Doesn't get any easier than that.
