I'm DJing a awards dinner for a Boy Scout group, called a Blue and Gold dinner if any of you have ever done them. Well, I've done it for the past 2 years, and the kids seemed to enjoy it, but i was looking to updat the playlist i have for them. I used pretty much the same set list, and wanted to switch it up a bit. Age group is about 2nd to 6th grade. Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks alot guys!

well, the blue and gold is a big step for cub scouts, so something that could be aimed towards them would be good, and something with an "oh yeah, we finally made it" feel to it for those weeblos becoming boy scouts (as you can tell, i've had to sit through many a blue and gold).

Try and find scouting songs (if you can get a copy of any scouting book, you may be able to find some).

However you go, good luck.

DJ'ing ANY event with children present really presents a chore. The kids all want to hear the stuff on the radio that they hear. A lot of it is edited, but you can figure out the bleeps. Regardless if it is edited or not, the parents hate it. This is the main reason I DON'T enjoy doing children only events. A wedding reception is another example, but your out is..NO KIDS after 9 or 10 pm...then play whtever the guests want and you want. My dad was an Eagle Scout, I also enjoyed Scouts as a kid. Playing a gig for them will be tough, but you know that, you've done it before. Stick with Top 40 radio edits that aren't too bad, and play some C&W for the parents. Leave the Classic Rock at home, it's full of drug inuendos. Good luck bro!!
