You said that you can hear music when you fade so you fader is bleeding. Its bleeding music. I am not sure on what you should do. What mixer do you have. What fader bleeds. The channel fader or the crossfader. If its the crossfader, replace it with a new one.
Fader is a long straight variable resistor (similar to a rotary knob control of your car or home stereo knob) It is much easier and faster to use a straight fader.....the fader has two or more contacts & strips of resister material, as you slide the fader across from end to end or side to side the resistance changes from 0 to 100% (voltage drops). This gives you maximum to NO output volume. A CROSS fader has maximum volumes at each end and a combined volume in the center. When a fader wears out or becomes dirty it BLEEDS cuts out or sometimes arcs/shorts.
Faders will always wear out unless they are a magnetic fader or a true optical fader (which I would imagine ADJ would be working on anyway). Anyway, you can always go to Mars or GC and pick up some Caig Cail Lube, it should help prolong the life of your feather fader. Drew
