how does everyone handle people asking to look through your music library/collection. I hate to come off rude or arrogant but i hate i mean really hate when people figure that since they hired me they have free rein on my music. I'm usually pretty nice about my delivery, mostly cause Columbus couldn't even navigate through a good chunk of my stuff. And even better my favorite situation of all "i'm a dj" or "have you ever heard of so and so entertainment" someone asked me that a few weeks ago, and i simply responded "no". He went on and on about how he dj's on the side, he does weddings and blah blah blah yadda yadda, and my turntables this and . . . you get it by now, well he was annoying as alllllll heck and kept telling me what everyone "wanted" to hear, and everytime i played something he said they "wanted" they bailed on me. anyone got any good stories?

realistic stories of course . . . . Smiler

sorry guys i should've posted this in working dj, can you move it please????pretty please????

I have a rule and that is to let NOBODY look through my music. If you have that rule it is easier to stick with it. If people get mad at you for that, well that isnt your problem.

The other part was about something even more annoying: the "I am also a DJ"-guy. That is very irritating. If you were a carpenter would you stop at any construction site and tell the guys there that you are a carpenter also? I dont think so. It gets even worse when they try to tell you how to play, what music to choose and so on. If that "dj" cant pay you that much respect to leave you alone during your gig then you dont have to respect him. I usually ignore them (and sometimes tell them to get the hell out of my way).
