Hey Dj SKILZ, i'm A starting out dj, and I really wANT THE pRO SCRATCH 2, but it's kinda heavy on the pocketbook. Is the Pro Scratch 1 good. I'M gOING TO SCRATCH most of the time. I heard you say that the PS1 doesn't sound like real scratching? I'M Under age to see most of the dj's in the STL, so should I buy Videos of professional DJ'S? aLso, CAN YOU buy the scratch box buy itself? Do you have any DJ videOS out? Confused

Everything you stated above all falls down on how serious you are about becoming a DJ. If you just want to try it out first, then go out, and get yourself really cheap gear, so that you can pratice around, and get a feel for the artform. Many people that i know started out, and then found out later down the road that it was not for them, and they had over $5000 worth of Gear collecting dust. I dont' know about you but that kind of upsets me. If your all into scratching then get yourself a turntable, and understand the feel of it first before getting the whole package.

Because of technology, There are a few DJ's that have arrived at the Digital Turntablism Age at the same time, and i am one of them. There is no preferance with me if i was really the first or Not, all i know is that i will continue doing what i love, and that is " being a DJ " ( Of Any Artform ) and taking it to the highest level i can. Dj'ing is an Art that takes many x5 years to master, and you will only achieve that talent by putting in your time ( PRACTICING ).

SKILZ- That is so right! DJ is universal, you should share the information you know with everyone! I'm starting with 1 vinyl turntable, and an old school mixer, p.o.s. I'm saving up to buy 2 pro-scratch 2's. You can almost learn the technique of DJing on anything, either it is 100 dollar turntables or 5000 dollar turntables. Also, when I switch my fader from right to left, you can still here both turntables. Is there a way to fix that? Smiler

Realistic? Sounds like you got that at Radio Shack ! Does it have the Knobs on the side of the fader for switching which channel you want to go on? If not then i suggest you just get yourself a new mixer to go with your equipment !

You get what you pay for. Either your rich or poor. If both channels are playing at the same time and the crossfader is not in the center. This is what they call Bleeding. While your saving up for a new mixer, learn to skratch with volume controls, lube them up to get the slippery when wet feel.

Peace,
