Does anyone know if I can make multiple track points on one .wav or .mp3 file with a computer program. I know it is easily done with a CD recorder. I am using Sonic Foundry Sound Forge 6.0 or Sonic Foundry Acid Music.

Thanks,

I'm pretty sure this can be done but I haven't personally done it. Winamp if given a cue sheet can seperate tracks to the points specified on that cue sheet and split it into sperate tracks. I think there is a need for a seperate plug-in but it is probably better to ask for seans help.

Yes I've done this before, I did a single track 45min mix that I wanted to segment into 10 tracks but still have them flow into each other without any stops right. It can be done but takes time using Sound Forge and good CD burning software.

Extract the whole mix audio from source (CD, MP3 whatever) into WAV format. Now with SForge simply cut'n'paste each track into their own individual wav files. You must be careful not to leave out any of the wavs audio and not leave any space before and after the cut.

Then once you have your segmented tracks simply burn them back onto Audio CD format making sure you have Track-At-Once enabled and that zero second gaps between tracks is setup on all track transitions.

I'm not sure if that is what you are thinking about, hope this helps!

Cheers

Track-at-once will give you the 2 second gap. You need to burn it using Disc-at-once.

right you are, and if you're having problems with this option using your current burning software, upgrade to nero. it really does a nice job.
Cool
