SKILZ,
hey, im looking at buying a q-d5. Ive tried it out but i dont really like the lightness of the crossfader. I have tried similar crossfaders on many different mixers. Anyway, im familiar with graphite crossfaders and I like em for only ONE reason, there is friction so i have more control over the crossfader. My question is, do u have this same problem with the crossfaders, and what is your method of crossfading when using this. I feel that i can only use the crossfader when im "pinching" it, otherwise i lack control. |

I've tried graphite x faders they all have one problem in common
they were out at the most inappropiate time qd-5 is the way to go i have it and so far would not trade it for the world |

Like a posted before, they should make a mixer with optical fader, and adjusable resistance. If your current setting wears out and becomes too loose, you just tighten the resistance.

I went from an old 4 channel mixer to the Qd5. I love the lightness, but I can see how the switch could be a problem. All I say, is practice on it for awhile, and you could probably get used to it, that's what it did for me, I love it, and would never go back. For me its optical faders all the way. Peace.
