I have a quesiton concerning a scratch:

i have been listening to numerous tunrtablism records, and many mix tapes. And the one thing that i noticed throughout all the tapes was one scratch that i cannot figure out. If u know hwat i mean its like a stutter back and force of a word. The x men use this exclusivly it seems, its like:

y-o-o-y-y-o-o-y-y-o-o-y-y.... and so on

so what i want to now si what the hell that is, is that a really fast orbit, and if it, what crazy number of clicks does that take to do that.

also i would like to now the approach of it, do i go with a fast scratch and then a fast fader hand, or is it a slow scratch with a faster fader hand. Please clear this up for me

thanks

an orbit is 2 clicks backwards, and 2 clicks fowards, and then repeat.

NOTE: This is much easier to show in person.

Actaully there is a 1 click orbit, 2 click orbit, and 3 click orbit.

There are many differnt ways of doing this scratch. You can let go of the record, or hold it. Each application gives it a different sound to the scratch.
