I agree. I have rarely seen one person so active in a Forum, handling so many requests and giving so much personal time away (Unless your getting paid to do this). In that casem congrats on the great job.

No i am not getting paid to do this. I honestly take my personal time to come here at this forum, and help whoever, and however i can. Which really isn't a big deal to me, I enjoy doing this, and helping you guys.
A lot of DJ's out there probably won't like to give you the information that you need because they are scared of you getting better then them, or they are thinking that if they can put 155 hours in learning on what took them so far, then you have to put that 155 hours as well, why should you get off easier? That is NOT the case with me, i believe that if your just starting out, and you need guidance, i would like to get you started into the right direction, and help you achieve your goal faster. Because the truth is that if that person put 155 hours in achieving that goal, even if i tell you exactly how to do it, and get you started the right way, your still going to put in 155 hours in learning, and building up the talent to achieve that task. It's all about the effort, and time you put in to make yourself a better DJ ( That is the real Truth ). So the next time a DJ asked you for help think about this : Why not help the people who want to be helped in the same field that your in? They love the game just as much as you, and this will help the DJ industry grow faster, and become more popular. And when the time comes for them to pass on that information on to somebody else, they will never forget who taught that information to them, even if they lie about it or not.. The truth will remain in your head forever. And that is my 2 cents. |

exactly, development is key in making sure there are no wack dj's in the future, if you came out here for a few weeks and saw "the greatest" dj's you'd start crying because a three legged cat can mix better than half of them, i'm not sure if that's the drugs or if it's just the fact that everyone else is so doped up they can't hear train wrecks, but there's no shame in showing someone your tricks, i learned from several people, mostly by watching and listening, and then developed my own style of blending, and mixing, the more you give away the more you have to challenge yourself to try new things, which is why you shouldn't just be a trance dj or a hip hop dj, i've had the time of my life mixing dancehall reggae and oddly enough 80's metal . . . it's fun try it, it requires skill right skilz?
Skilzy here is and myself as well as a large portion of the dj community recognize that in order to bring our artform to the next level that we have to be on each others side, the only things we get paid for are our gigs, and in some cases we know a great deal about gear and situations that don't come around every day, like when someone tells you that the cd player feels hot because it is "hot and new" not exactly the answer i expected, we've seen the big ego's and thier time will pass, those are the guys that get paid to handle forums.(no names |

Club DJ |
Guy's and Ladies, if you are out there, Skilz does not get paid to moderate the forums, he is just the most dedicated DJ in the world, he has always been more than willing to help anyone. He has been with me since we started American Audio, and lately we have been listening to him more and more on certain things pertaining to GEAR. Most DJ's have huge egos, if Skilz is like that, he certainly keeps it well hidden, to me he is son # 2. I would love to be President of his Fan Club, because believe me I am a huge fan.
P.S. did you know that he has learned to "CRAB" with either hand? To my knowledge only Craze the 3 time world champ is the only other DJ that can do that, let me give you Skilz 3 steps to success, practice, practice, practice . Peace John Brown Manager American Audio |
