Hi
I live in europe and im 14 years old.
And I have a problem: wich mixer should I buy ( i prefer behringr cuz it has FX) and whit that mixer I would like to buy 2 single cd players with scratch (cdi-300!!). But I only have 600 dollars (=dollars) and should i really need a mixer with fx cuz the cdplayers already have the fx i need!!! the begringr costs 250.
Please post reply on what mixer and cdplayers you would buy with 600-700 dollars!!
thanx

Alright... first of all you dont need a mixer with fx. I have used and owned the ********* and i am sure its a good mixer but alot of people are concerned with its sound quality. The Cdi give you fx which is in synch with your music, while the mixer fx are just an effect with no synchronization. You seriously don't need a mixer with the same fx.

Second is scratching is what you plan to do then i suggest you take a look at the QD-5, with the optical fader ( 1 million fades and counting!). It is a signature series mixure from Dj SKilz (among the best scratch turntablists in the world). Check out its pricing in Europe, although i am quite sure you will be able to get this excellent 2 channel mixer for under 600 dollars easily. If you have any further questions, dont hesitate to ask. I thought I posted this already, but I guess not

FYI, The CDI-300 does not have effects really except for the scratching. You may be better off getting 2 PSX's. They have the same sound and feel to the scratching, plus are loaded with effects. Right now you can find them for less $$$'s as well. As for the mixer. American Audio has a few quality mixers for under $200 that are 4 channel, or if you get the PSX's, it should save you a little money that you can put towards getting the Q-FX19. I have unfortunately heard both good and bad about the DJX-700.

The Q-FX19 costs way to much mony, and the PSX,... if i buy those, i havent got much money lft for the mixer so i guess the djx700, but now, wich cdplayer??? the most important effects are flanger, filter, echo.
wich cdplayer, or anybody has a better idee for the mixer??

I recommend saving some more money before getting a system.

Can I ask why you need a four channel mixer? If we have a better understanding of what you are trying to do, we can make better recommendations.
If all you want to do is scratch with two CD players, then all you need is a two channel mixer.

I want to begin dj'ing and use the scratch in some songs, i'll be spinning top-40 songs in the beginning but I want to move to hiphop or maybe even trance. I need a 4channel mixer becuz its better, i can spin 4 cd's and easily fade in an differnet cd. so I can use peaces of other cds in my mix (soomething like samples ) Smiler

OK, well then I would still save up more money then.
There are basically two ways to approach DJing:
1. Buy budget equipment, and then upgrade later (or sooner) to better (more expensive usually) equipment if it is something you want to stick with.

2. Spend more money up front, but have the best equipment for your needs.

or 3. Constantly keep spending money on DJ equipment because it is a sickness that will consume your life. Smiler

As I said the PSX is the same price or less than the CDI-300 and has effects and scratching. As for the mixer get a QD5 they go under $200, and is a really good quality scratch mixer.

Mixer - Q-MX2BPM - 3 channels, but with 6 line inputs.
CD players with scratch + FX - PSX, Pro-Scratch 2, CDI-500.
These are all American Audio products. There are many others out there which may suite your need and budget. I suggest finding a store and trying them out for yourself (if possible).

I can appreciate you are 14 and don't have much money, but DJing is not an inexpensive hobby, as many here will tell you.
Good luck.
