Anyone here ever use the digipro(scratch box feature)and if so is there any latency(delay) from the vinyl to the cd player when you scratch? The reason i need to know is that i incorporate a lot scratch routines into my mix sets and latency might pose a problem...I've never mixed with cds before either so any reviews on the digipros would be helpful..Thanx!
though i have only seen it at the expo, which is probably the closest you can get without buying one, i can in all honesty tell you that there is no latency at all in the digi pro. even when the needle jumps off the vinyl the scratch still works perfectly.
I have bought one myself and to answer your question, there is a very slight but almost unnoticeable delay. It really depends on how fast you are able to scratch. For the most part, it works perfect. Its been a great compliment to my own mix tapes. During very fast scratches, the delay may be noticeable.

Thanks for the reply Cadillac.. I have a couple more questions... can use the pitch control on the turtable to beat mix and does the master tempo feature work when changing the pitch on the turtable.
Yes. My best advice would be to find a local american DJ retailer and try the unit for yourself. I know that where I got mine from there was a display model that anyone could use. Its like buying a car, if you can't test drive it, you probably shouldn't buy it. For something with a good size price tag, I don't see them giving you any hassle to try it out. If they do, go to another store. Good luck. If you like the feel of vinyl, you probably will like the Digi pro.

@ cadillac i want my dj to actually play our live shows from vinyl, so he can have some control over the instrumentals (as opposed to rockin over minidisc/cds). would you recommend this product for that purpose? and also, he wants to know if you can use the "scratch box/vinyl" part of it with any cd player? thanks in advance.
I've been aqble to goof around with one of these in my store, and the latency that Cadillac was talking about is big for about 30 seconds, then it smooths out. I think it has to do with the buffer memory. As a matter of fair ness, it's notworthy to say that the Pioneer CDJ1000 can't scratch at all for about a second after you change tracks. The DigiPro is ready from the get go, even with a little lagg. Definately get to a local dealer and get your hands on one. That's all it will take. Noone had bought one from me brcause of anything I said to them beond "Hey, you gotta check this out"

Just to answer your question regarding the use of the Digi Pro for your live shows. Yes, you could use the Digi Pro to scratch your own CD's, but if you are attempting to hold the record (and in a split second cut in during a song) you will be unable. There is too much of a delay to get accurate scratch cut in points when you are stalling the record. You have to keep running the record back and forth at a steady pace for a while for the CD to catch up to the record. What I am saying is that there is actually more of a delay than I noted before. After using this product for a few days, I realized that I was going to be unable to accomplish what I needed with the unit, so I returned it. I purchased the CDJ 1000 and have no complaints there. I am able to cut in at any point with no delay in the sound effect, even if I stall the CD for a minute. AAAAAAHHHHHH much better. I was real excited about the product(Digi Pro) when I first purchased it, but after using it,I found it to be dissapointing. Again, try it for yourself, it may work for your needs. CADILLAC. Also, soon lookout for djcadillac.com which should be up and runnig soon!

I also forgot to tell you that you will require 2 scratch boxes and two turntables to run both of the CD decks simultaneously. The scratch box lists for around 100.00.
