is there a way to create a sample from the current running cd and super impose that sound over the song ?

I've been trying to figure out how to do it .. but it escapes me

Yes there is.

1) What you need to do, is hit the in button where you want to start the sample, and the out where you want the sample to end.

2) Then hit the "mem" memory button and a flash point (1, 2, 3, 4) that you want to store it to.

3) When you are ready for playback, hit the sample button (once if you want the sample to loop continuosly, twice so that it's flashing if you want it to play only once). Then hit the corresponding number to wherever you stored your sample to (1, 2, 3, 4)

I discovered a "wierd" feature on the CDI 500
sometimes if I push to hard on the wheel it mickey mouses the persons voice and stays that way or if I pull too hard it barry whites the artist's voice and it stays that way

That's because, if the jog wheel is not in scratch mode, or you use the rubber rim of the CD player while in scratch mode. The jog wheel becomes a pitch bend. You only need to use little nudges for corrections, or sometimes I'll use it for a manual break effect or something.

It's been almost a year, I guess I'll have to find some time to work on the video project. Since AA hasn't released one.
