Look at the ADJ mobile package, or if you really wanna invest in stuff for the long term look into somthing like the DCD-500. Personally, i dont go cheep on mixers, but for what you wanna do you could get away with just about anythin.

As for simple lighting effects, i would start with an Aggressor, Vertigo, and maybe a Mellinnum.

You might want to talk with one of the local djs and maybe watch them a few gigs. You can learn alot.

DCD-Pro 400

Two very high quality dual decks. . . . perfect for your application, I'm assuming you already have a mixer, but if not . . . .

DJJoyd,
Did you use a reciver or professional amp,When you add a Mixer it will allow you to Cue-Up the cd in your headphones before you play over your speakers and you can also blend/fade from one song CD Deck to the other.

I do believe you would need an Amplifier to send the signal to the speakers. . . . . you would plug the cd players into the line inputs of the mixer and then run cables from the output of the mixer into the inputs of an amp, then send speaker cables into the speakers. . . . just make sure you have an amp that's powerful enough.
