Hi everyone. I;m just getting started in Dj'ing, and I have a question. Say for instance I buy the Velocity, and hook it up to my speakers, without a mixer, would I be able to mix songs using Velocitys' onboard Effects?

That would be like ussing a expensive CD player with your music system. You need the mixer to Mix. With the on board effects you can only play around real mixing or even beatmatching .. or cut-fade, fade, watever may it be. You cant do it unless you ave a mixer.

Cheers

Yeah Ive been to the one on McMullen Booth. So I guess I'll get me a mixer then huh, mostly I'll order the QD5. I'm probably gonna need help on hooking everything up. The velocity unit is on its way via UPS. And I already got 2 speakers, I'll order the mixer tonight. Thanks for the input guys.

You may want to go with a 19" mixer, like the Q-3433, Q-SPAND, or DX4. Or, AA's new 19" mixer, the QFX19.
It would fit better with the V in a rack case. You could get an adapter to fit the Q-D5 into a 19" rack. But, I would look for that new mixer, it's crazy!

Rick, just watch the Velocity Video, it explains EVERYTHING clearly, as far as Connections, Basic Features, and features a little demo by DJ SKILZ showing some of the things you can do.
