i dont think i have ever been more annoyed!
i thought i was starting to get pretty good at beat mixing but then when i went to practice today i could not get anything right, does any one out there have any tips? This is the job that i want to do for the rest of my life and i want to make a name for myself but at the rate i am going i wont do that until i am 90! please help |

Ok now calm down breathe........slow down and look at what you are doing. Most of all listen to your mix. Make sure you can hear well in your headphones. Feel the groove and don't push it. Just flow. I think you are just trying to hard and not getting in the zone. If you had it before you couldn't have lost it, you just aren't hearing it. Practice and listen then get in your zone.

And if that doesn't work here's an easy way to get back on track. Its easy to beat match when you start with the snare drum. Its the loudest and most evident of all the beats. So cue your song to the first snare hit. Even if you have to fast forward through some nice parts of the intro to get to it. Once you have the snare, just time it with the snare hits of the other song. If your tempo is set right, it will be on. After some practice with this you'll start feeling it, then you can move to the bass hits. Don't get discouraged, even the great ones had to start somewhere
