How do you count the beats? Feeling or do you use a bpm counter??? I use feeling and after hearing some trax several times i usually can tell the BPM...any tips for me, just post it ;-)

The truth is to practice.. once you know how to beat mix song to song, your not going to need to know the BPM's for every song. I never needed the BPM's, and i never will. The true talent is in your ear. Practice Beat Matching, and BPM counters are obsolete.

eventually over time you will think of nine other songs at the same time whenever you listen to the radio and then you can just slide the tempo to where you feel it, if it doesn't sound right then you bust you'r a@@ to get it right, you have to practice, and learn beats and rhythm's, most everything is done in 4/4 time but have some fun and mix heavy metal into house or any form of dance for that matter, take vocals from a ballad and play it over a fast beat
best bet is to get a metronome at any local music store and sleep with it (not literally) till you learn different tempo's
and then try to work it into mixing

then over time you'll know exactly what you need to do to make your next track work no matter what song you are playing

Yeah! thx for the advise...got a metronome...not so easy, but im working on it....got 3 new jobs for the next month, so maybe i can invest in my equipement ;-)
