Hey guys,

After many years of wanting to DJ, I finally have the whole gear. I would like to know what you recommend regarding wiring and tuning up a system for optimal performance. The following is what I have:

2 Technics (of course!) SL-1200 MK3 M3D

Pio neer DJM-600 Mixer

Phonic Recording PA Equalizer MQ3400

American Audio V2000Plus Amplifier

15" 3 WAY CERWIN VEGA SPEAKERS V15X
(Frequency Response: 35 Hz - 17 kHz Power Handling Program: 250 watts Peak: 500 watts Impedance 4 ohms)

Now, my questions are, which speaker wires would more likely be a better fit for such system? I read some where that if I choose 50 ft of wire, 1/4 Banana Plugs should be 16 Gauge minimum, 14 preferred, true? Also, Id like for someone to be kind enough to draw up instructions on how to wire the turntables to my, mixer, EQ and amp. I know if I hook it up wrongly, the sound may suffer greatly or may damage one of the components. Im a complete noob when it comes to setting up these things but Im sure its simple as hell. What seems confusing and intimidating to me are all the input and output ports in the rear panels, little knobs and switches and so forth.

Anyhow, any help would be greatly appreciated! Big Grin

Jimi

Depends how long of wire you are using. The longer you are using the lower the guage should be. I suggest shorter higher guage wire. Wink
