I know this is quick since I have only had the unit for a day. I noticed while using the unit, that the sound output from the headphone output on the back of the unit produces distroted sound, and is only corrected when the 1/4 plug is either turned or jiggled. I noticed this semi distorted sound at the store where I demo'd the new in box unit, but the sound was going out through the rca's and I had to jiggle them to correct the sound. Any ideas/suggestions on how to alleviate this, I will be using them more tomorrow and will post again if I have the same issue. The headphones I have are home audio phones, Grado Labs SR-80's. Not sure if ohm's plays an issue on this or not.

Did you demo the players with the same headphones both at home and at the store?

At the shop the unit was hooked up to some pa system, rogue rca's from behind a wall basically. I've been trying to replicate the issue but I haven't been able to so far today. I have the unit on my desk with plenty of ventilation. One thing it could be is a new user who hasn't used this equipment being too sensative to every little thing the unit does... lol Example, with a sample playing and if I try to spin the scratch platter back or forward really fast the sound has a grainy scratchy sound to it. Probably not the correct way to use the unit. Just an example of a totally new user trying to use the equipment and only confusing himself Smiler One thing I wanna point out, is that when I spin the platter forward it speeds up a bit, just like a real record player, somethin that just clicked in my head now, it really does emulate a record player really well. I'll post again if the misc sound issue comes back.

Kaotic, did the PS2 come with a manual - it should of! Before attempting the impossible I strongly suggest you thoroughly READ the manual and learn the PS2's limitations.

With the distorting sound from your outputs it sounds like the leads you are using might be suspect, I recommend you replace the RCA leads with new ones and see if you get the same results same goes for the headphones.

ROQ out.
