You can make the mix live, then if you want it to sound very professional. You can use programs like Acid, and Soundforge to clean it up and remaster it. Don't laugh or think that its unprofeesional to use software. This following statement is a fact. I spoke with Loui Devito at the AC DJ Expo, and he is the worlds biggest seller of "mix" CD's. He does all of his mixes on TT's and CD players, then takes it into the studio for further refinement on a computer. That way he can cut out long breaks from songs, or too much repetitiveness. He told me he does not edit the mixes themselves, except to compress them if volumes are to high. But his theory is that the people buying the mix CD's don't want to hear all 8 minutes of a song, even a great one. So he cuts them down to around 3-4 minutes. I hope this helps.
