Welcome to the forum DJ Hacon. You like tekno eh... As for the gear i'll let somebody else help u out on that. For me i had like $350 to start out so i had to do some bargaining. I bought my TT's new (basic entry model, DEFFENTALLY DO NOT GET A BELT DRIVE) and i traded some stuff to a friend for a dj mixer and a bundle of vinyl. Don't worry about lights just yet. Well, thats my 2 cents so now i'll hand it over to the more knowledgeable DJ's.

djhacon, First you gotta answer a couple of questions:
Vinyl or CD? Mobile or Club DJ? / or just a hobby? On your budget you could by 2 CDI500s/PS2s and a QD5 mixer, very nice setup. Once you narrow it down, pickin the gear is easier. DJ.RO |

instead of cd or vinyl, how bout cd and vinyl, all in one..... the power of computers, for all of you that don't know what i'm talking about its a program (one of a kind) that takes time encoded lp's and the audio output from your mixer runs into your computer and the computer reads the time code and you can play mp3's like there on the vinyl.... really expensive but i've had the chance to play with it and it's really really cool.

Lighting Tech. American DJ |
Well I'd recommend anyone who like Hip Hop to get turntables. Basically because hip hop is more flexible on records than CDs. If you DJ in public for younger audiences you want the music to be edited. Basically almost all hip hop on records have a clean version. I also think it's generally more fun to work with vinyl. If you had a higher budget I'd recommend a PS2 or CDI500. Turntables cost less unless you get a high end model which you won't need to start off, but creating your vinyl collection will cost more than using CDs. You could try a pair of AA HTD 1.8 which just came out(and looks very very nice) or something with a bit more torque like a AA powerdrive 2.2 I don't think you need something with more power unless you will be getting into some heavey scratching. For a mixer I suggest you look for one yourself, everyone has a different preference so experiment before you buy.

Actually 3 of a kind......... And they were all based off the technology of the American Audio Digi-Pro Cd player. The first to use time coded vinyl to control digital music.... Just a little history lesson. |

CD System: Fusion 818 CD System Found At: http://123dj.com/packages/cd/fusion818.html Speakers: Two Options: Either one they cost same. Option 1: http://123dj.com/packages/pa/gem1000watt.html Option 2: This one has more power! http://123dj.com/packages/pa/megabass2004.html If you put the speakers and cd system together it should cost about 1000 dollars. First of all keep in mind you are just starting out. The best thing to do is start digital. I'm not squashing the T.T. enthusiasts out there. Vynil is exspensive. You can carry more cd's under one arm than you can wax (vynil). Computers are expensive also. So the mid range entry level is the cd. There are a few "all in one" packages out there so check them out. Don't just buy the first thing that comes along. Do your research! It is up to you, you will have to use this equipment. There is a dual cd player / mixer available for under $400.00 brand new I suggest this one. then get a small amp and speakers. You can buy an amplified set for around $400.00 2 satellites & 1 subwoofer.
that is a complete system. Now for music. Save! Save! Save! check out some of the internet buys on CD's some ppl are actually getting rid of complete sets for pennies on what it cost them. As allways do your research! Afterwards, Practice until you feel like you are going to throw up the next time you hear "that song" again. (you'll understand what I mean when this happens). But be sure not to press yourself too hard. devote at least 20 mins. for each practice session. then if this seems like what you want to do. Go to the next level! I hope I didn't scare you, it is a LOT of work but we love it, live for it, and can't live without it. But there is no sense in buying the latest/greatest stuff on the market to just drop later on. Like I said DJ'ing isn't for everyone. For that fact, you could say that about every job out there. Give it a try & happy mixing to ya! Welcome to our secret world! DJ Rage |

I think American Audio sells very good items for nice pices.
If you like Turntables, use HDT 4.5.. If you want CDs, you can look for DCD-1000 as I use. They are NICE! Double Cd players save your money. |
