Hey all,

At the moment I have nothing (sound wise) and inevitably want to be able to do some digital scratching with my own CDs and songs, so the musical and burning side of things is taken care of.

I've taken a look around and with regards to Digital Scratching, my options seem to be the PSX or PS2. But I'm clueless when it comes to Mixers, Amps and Speakers.

*showing ignorance* Am I suppose to use just one cd player or two? And what about a suitable mixer to use for this type of setup?

I know I would need to be more specific to my intent, for you too recommend amps and speakers so I will leave that for another thread.

It would be better off for you to use 2 CD players for Scratching. 2 PS2's is what i recommend. This way you can scratch, and beat juggle too. There are a lot more trix to learn on the CD Decks then just scratching. It's the world of turntablism.

Speaking of Turntablism.. i am going to move this thread there.. Smiler

I don't want tips and tricks on scratching, I just want a recommendation on a cd player and mixer to use... which by my logic would suit the "American CD'S Mixers Amps Etc." forum. Confused

So what's a popular mixer used for people with two PS2's?

It wouldn't have matter which thread this post would have been in... I just moved it becuase i know this topic will lead into talking about Scratching, and Beat Juggling.. so i am going to save my time now.. thats all.

The Mixer that i recommend to use with 2 PS2's would be the QMX2BPM mixer, or the QMX1 Mixer. These is my 2 Favorite mixers out from American Audio. But once the QD-5 Mixer Comes out... I will have a new Favorite. Smiler

Dear SKILZ,
I was wondering if you ever had any trouble with your PS2's? I know I have had couple things happen such as popping and fading on the left side during a scratching performance, and to make things worse I ordered 2 and 1 has a short in it or something. I'm kinda low on cash so I bought it on 5/22/02 and can't afford to ship it to you yet!!!! THANKX,GYPSY Confused

Gypsy, the only thing I can suggest to you would be to contact tech support either by email or by phone and get an RA. Unfotunately sometimes this can happen, it's not something that plagues every unit, but if you've ever watched UPS unload and load and even drive a truck, I'm sure you'd understand how certain things can come loose.

Gypsy,

In the Developing stages of the PS2, i had all sorts of problem, and once it was getting close to the finish there were hardly any problems at all. But if you do have a question, or a problem that you will like help with.. please post it here, or contact 1-800-333-0644 and ask for Tech Support. Thanks

i have a small problem with mine, and its with both of them. When i backcue fast, it breaks up and skips. Is this normal? Its not that big of a deal, but it would be nice to have fixed. Also the DSP's get buggy too.
