I want to learn to scratch on cd players. Will Qberts videos help, or are they mainly geared towards the vinyl dj? If not, can anyone suggest one that would help?

Qbert is strickly Vinyl. But you can apply the same techinque you see on Vinyl to CD players. There is no difference.. so if you want to learn how to scratch all you have to do is watch and scratch video like ( DJ QBERT'S DO IT YOURSELF ) scratch videos.

Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it very much. I've just recently become intrigued with the art of turntablism, so any knowledge I can get from you guys is appreciated. Thanks

boo berry,

If you're looking for scratch w/CD videos, check out DJ Gerald "World Wide" Webb's videos.

I'm with Skilz....honestly Webb's video's really don't teach that much beyond the very basic stuff.

Skilz I need to know....

Qbert is strickly Vinyl
You've spent time with Qbert right, considering his hardcore Vinyl position what is his opinion on CD/Digital turntablists like your good self? Does he embrace the technology and thinks it has its place in DJ'ing or does he think its all a gimmick? Has he ever tried turntablism on a 'good' CD turntable? Just curious, thanks in advance.

ROQ out.

As far as i know Qbert is the type of guy who embraces technology. There is no way of stoping technology, and it will be with us forever. I embrace it 100%, and can't wait to see what the future holds for the DJ world, and NON-DJ world.

You might not see Qbert use CD players at any of his events, but that doesn't mean he hates it, or doesn't support it. Qbert has used almost every single CD player in the market for his own personal use. Qbert is strickly vinyl at his events simply because he has labeled himself in that market for the past 18 years. People know him for what he brought on the turntable of DJ'ing all these years.

You're in for a long wait from AA Fobster but don't dispair Num@rk has heard the call and come up with the CDX-1 (minus the tone arm), it's really cool. I kind of hope AA do something like this too.
