Hey All;
I purchased one PS1 about two weeks ago and love it. I already put another on layaway and will have it before Christmas. I just found out about this forum thru DJ Skilz website which was pretty kool.

I have to ask, the video that came with the unit recommends scratching form a twelve o'clock position. I personally like the nine o'clock position.

Which position do you guys prefer. I would also really like to get DJ Skilz input.

Thanks,
J@CK@$$

Hi Jack,
First of all welcome to the forum.

Second of all Congrats on your PS1 purchase.

Third I do not have one preference for where I grab the wheel for a scratch, most of the time its in the nine o'clockish position, but I a just grab it wherever it feels most comfortable at the time, and also it depends how long I want to make the scratch, if I need a longer stroke I may grab about 7o'clock, to get a fuller stroke.

And finally forth, this question is probably better asked in the Turntablism section.

Jack@ss welcome to the forum..

I bet you got your name from the Movie..lol It was a funny movie, but anyhow...

When it comes to scratching.. i scratch to where the same starts so it can be at 12, 3, 6, 9 oclock postion. It doesn't matter to me.. have you seen the Pro Scratch 2, or the Velocity yet?? you should check those units out as well. Thanks, and keep posting.

P.S I am glad you like my site !

Stevie Ray : Thanks for the input and the info.

Skilz : Thanks for the input and info. I wanted to get your point of view. My name dates back at least 10 years ago. If you knew me it would explain it.

As far as the PS2 and the Velocity goes, I live in Philly and the people were very helpful when I purchased my unit. I am just messing around in the basement. I really could not justify spending that much money for doing what I am doing. My friend Mike got me back into it after him telling me about the PS1's. I used to be into DJ'ing in the mid 80's (I know I am dating myself.) on the breakdance scene.

I will be sure to stay tuned on the forum and visit frequently.

Thanks Again,
J@CK@$$

i prefer markers pointing to the needle. that way if you play somewhere and their decks are fixed the old old way, you don't get confused.

if you know how to do a baby scratch, yes you can do it on the PS2. The wheel will respond to any move you make with your hand, you may have to practice at it till you get used to the feel but as always if you can do it on vinyl, you'll have no issues adjusting.
