i am just wondering is scratching on the ps2 the same as scratching on a real turntable. i mean can i use the exact same movments with the cross fader and the ps2 as i would on a real turntable and get the exact same scaratch?

Yes you can use the exact same movements but just with a shorter "stride", being that the platter is much smaller than a 12" record. The platter has no effect on the crossfader whatsoever, once you get the hang of digital scratching you will be fine. . . we wouldn't call it a digital turntable if it weren't capable of stacking up next to an analog turntable.

the platter is smaller so the amount that you move the platter will be less than on a conventional 12" platter, hence a shorter stride.

Also think of it as covering new ground. You are now a digital turntablist as well as a vinyl turntablist. You have new ground to cover and may invent something new. Maybe the chicken scratch to go with Clips country scratch Big Grin .
