Hey gang!

I've been spinning on Tech's for so long that it's actually caused a problem with my ability to mix using CDs. How in the world do you guys effectively cue up a CD? I continually try using my Velocity, and I just can't get it right. Adjusting the pitch isn't a big deal since I ride the slider on my Tech's. Any advice is welcomed!!! Thanks

I hear you, I use techs also...and cd players...let me tell you, its not easy to get used to it...I just got my velocity a couple of months ago, and man...you just have to practice, and before you know it, you'll get the hang of it, just keep practicing! they'll never be like your techs, but they also do things your techs cant do and vise versa, but they get pretty close.

Brett I will say this, queing is something of a transitional thing you have to adapt to but you will get used to it quite easily with a bit of practice; believe me I was in the same boat as you.

Unfortunately the pitch control on the PS2/PS1/PSX/Velocity are all too coarse with only 0.1 resolution which doesn't make it as accurate as techs.

Of course the importance of this feature will all depend on the style of mixing you are doing, for some this is a major problem the rest of us we just live with it.

ROQ out.

Here's how I usually cue up:
Play track, listen for beat, hit 'In' on the kick/1/etc. Use Bop to hear if I got it right.
If right, hit Cue to stop it at the 'In' spot.
If not right, start track again, and try again.

Once you have it set, you can just press and hold Cue and it starts to play from the cue point until you let it go, then returns to cue point.

[not trying to state the obvious, just letting you know how I do it]

Oh, and practice, practice, practice! Big Grin
