Interesting. Is it a private beach, or a public beach?
I would ask your client about power. Especially if it is a private beach. Their house may be close enough to run an extension cord.
If not, you'll have to buy or rent a portable generator. Something that can handle the power requirements of your speakers and lights.
Electronics and sand do not play well together. I would want some kind of stage where I can set up my equipment.
Bring a tent for shade.

Its a public beach...I guess contacting the city about whats allowed and not is probably a good idea. Ye def a stage i told them that and the tent is a great idea! Ill do some research...

I do beach parties for a private gated community in my area. I setup just at the edge of the sand in the grass and they always provide a tent for me. The ground is a little uneven so I prop one leg of the table, speaker stands, and light stands with a small s**** of wood painted black. If you must set up in the sand a platform would probably be necessary.

I get the power from a nearby house. Long black 12 gauge extension cords are real hard to find, and the orange ones look horrible, so I make my own. I get black 12 gauge SJO cord (made for replacing the cords on floor buffers and such) and plug and receptacle pair from a local electrical supply house. Stay away from 14 gauge cords they tend to heat up pretty fast especially at any length.

The lights look really cool on the sand and it makes a great dance floor. The limbo is just about a must. If the limbo runs longer than the limbo rock song I use tropical songs with a similar beat like boat drinks by jimmy buffet. If there is a lot or children and tables/chairs set up then musical chairs with the kids is also a lot of fun. I find these parties a lot of fun, even though setup and tear down can sometimes be a little tricky.

Hope this helps.
