Well, i've been hired for my school's winter ball, and i'm considering a good way of getting a feel for the syles i should really go for. As opposed to ONLY taking requests at the actual event, i'm going to use my position on the AV crew to get a school-wide "request list". Basically, I'd have members from class council collect song ideas, then using those, either get the songs and develp an ideal playlist.

Now, this could obviously backfire on me, but i figured it'd be worth a try. I'll get back to you guys on how it goes. Wish me luck. Big Grin

Good luck!

Just make sure the 'class council' is actually asking students, not just giving you their requests. You're probably better off just going around and asking various students what they would like to hear. Or send out a survey in homeroom or something.

Yeah good idea, although be careful as some of those requests could be so way out of left-field you'll wonder why you asked in the first place.

Also remember that if one minority of people likes a particular song/artist doesn't necessarily mean the whole school will be into it as well.

Whatever list you get from the students just make sure you are able to cater for the majority and use the list as secondary or even what I like to call 'trial-n-error' list. With that said - BE PREPARED! Good luck, let us know how it works out.

ROQ out.

Yeah, more of a survey in homerooms.

ROQ, you don't have to warn me. Request i've gotten that stand out:

-Teletubbies theme
-Sesamie Street
-Barney
-Puff the Magic Dragon
-"That song by Usher"
-Elmo's song

I have a good idea of how to go about this, i just want to see how well this works. I'll pretty much build a barebones set, then add a little flavor to it, leaving spaces for me to get myself out of a hole.

I'll let you guys know what happens.

Yeah thats cool, if it were me, as a joke, I'd play those (weird) requests but I'd announce the persons name who requested it just so their friends can dish some back at them for doing so.....hehehe....!!!! (That's just my sick sense of humour).
