Your best bet is subscribing to a music service like TM Century, ERG, or Promo Only. They send you a disc(s) every month, with all the latest hits, all "clean", no foul language. That's probably the most important thing if you're doing mobile gigs. When you download P2P (Kazaa, iMesh, etc.), you run the risk of corrupted files, spyware, un-edited music, and I won't even get into the whole ethical side of it.

Anyways, for legit online, Wal-Mart is what I've used a few times. Their stuff is squeaky-clean, and only $0.88 a song. The downside is low bit-rate (low quality). You can get it through your Windows Media Player 10.

a good source is.....
iTunes
Napster
or Walmart.com

Legal sites that only cost less than a dollar per track. When I started I would spend $100/week for only 20 12" singles. Now $100 will get you like 8, so you can't complain about $1 per track. Keep it legal, and keep it real. Wink

The beauty of the legal downloads sites are for extremely last-minute song purchasing. I was doing a dance at my school, and i got a request for this song, one i really wanted to play, but didn't have. So, having credit @ iTunes, i just popped onto the school's wireless and downloaded the song, right then and there, without missing a beat.

that was pretty sweet. Cheap, too.

Technology is a wonderful thing... Big Grin

Yeah, for $1 or less for a song, you really can't complain.
