Ok well, now that the school year is running down, no more school dances. So I was wondering about tips on advertising. My friend's parents need me like once this summer, and another parent needs me for a business party, so rock on friend's parents! Other then that, how do I get more people? I was thinkin of making a little web page, and then putting that, and an ad in our local paper, which gets around fast. Also like a custom window sticker with my phone number? (cause I drive a lot)
any way thanks all you have helped out a lot! Big Grin

Business cards are the best form of advertising I think.. there are many topics about advertising, check them out and get other ideas.. websites are not bad either, if you can target the right people. The window sticker isn't a bad idea either, We use vans to transport our gear from gig to gig, and we have graphics all over the vans and we have had people call and tell us they seen their number on one of the vans, another thing you might want to think about doing is getting a magnetic door decal made so you can put them on your car, I see a lot of people doing this.. you can also always try direct marketing with local vendors that mail out a bunch of stuff to households and you can even try wedding magazines, yet they can cost a bit, we will be running a color ad in both issues and we paid about $2000.. But in all the best form of advertising is word of mouth.

Right on with the business cards and "word of mouth", Joe. They kind of go hand in hand.

Jest, check out www.vistaprint.com. You can get some inexpensive business cards there, and they ship right to your house. Some cool designs, I went with this basic geometric black background, my name, phone number, and email addy. All of their 'music' stuff were guys singing, nothing really DJ related.

Here you go. I think you are thinking of Professor Jam. He owns and operates a DJ company by night. And makes some of the best printed materials I have ever seen for DJs. Follow this link to Professor Jams Printing.

Or go here to see some of his work, and the WOWs he got for some of the work he has done.
