A have been surfing the net, to find out how big
mobile discos are in other countries.
But i cant seem to find any realy big mobile discos outside tiny Denmark. (5.5 mill people)

Every year we have a Danish championship for mobile discos.
In the final, 5 discos delivers a 30 min. show.

Videos can be DL here.
They are pretty large, over 600MB each.
But in superb quality.

If you have links to some big mobile discos, please post them..
THX

Nicolai DK.

Do you mean mobile DJ's or like a DJ battle sort of thing?

I'm just not sure if we're talking "apples to apples" or not.

If it's DJ battle things, those happen all the time and there are some big ones, I just pay no attention to those because I'm not a DJ. Guitar Center holds a national one each year, but there are some bigger ones out there. It's not really a hidden or underground thing either, it's just that if you're into it, you got to make a tiny bit of an effort to find it. And searching on the internet will more often than not lead you to it.

Is that what you mean? DJ battles?

James, could you please tell me witch forum rule i violated when i posted links to my own videos?
Ive read the rules, but dont understand why the links where erased.

Hi Chris.
No, i dont mean DJ battle.
This is a battle between 5 mobile discoes in the finale.
Where they are jugded on use of light, music choice, sound quality, mic use, if they mix, how good do they mix, safty, overall look, and more..
James erased the link i added to the first post.
Those videos would have shown what i meen..

Ah, I get it. A mobile DJ competition with their full rigs.

Not sure if they do that here. I don't see why not, but in my opinion only, that's not of interest to me.

Why did Jingles delete the links? The rule has to do with posting to outside web sites. It's nothing personal. And don't worry, Jingles is a cool guy. You're not in trouble, admins and mods on here would rather remove the "violating" material and otherwise let conversations continue.

I didn't check the links anyways. My internet connection had been poor recently, and on Tuesday, my roof-top box(I am on a wireless provider) went and and apparently released its magical blue smoke. Today, a tech came over to replace it with a new one. But, as if that wasn't enough, them my router went and took a dump on me after he left and I was putting things back. Grrrr! Rough day today.

What I see around here, a mobile DJ will typically set up on the stage for their position, and lights on a small truss in front of the stage. Not a whole lot of interesting stuff for the most part. Definately nothing competition quality. Even my rig, which is a bit more extensive, wouldn't win any contests. A good lighting designer could help me come up with better utilization of what I have. I'm working with MyDMX to help on this as well.

The European community is totally different than here in the States. A lot of stuff that is "passable" here would be laughed off the stage on your side ofthe pond.

Look i really dont mind a link to an external DJ source. but your links were direct downloads as a .zip file. Thats where i get nervous of anybody posting direct download links. .zip files can contain other files such as viruses in them. i was simply looking out for the rest of our members. feel free to post a web link to the site of those battles but please not a direct download link. Also we said no outside linking without expressed permission by ADJ, Chris has our expressed permission to post his link.
Sincerely,

Well, my web server's hard drive tanked on me last night, so the site's down anyways! Nothing to see right now. Since I have load in for a show tonight, and the actual event tomorrow, my web site is just going to be in limbo until Monday. I'll have three machines testing the web server(one doing CGI testing, one doing uploading and one doing other testing) while I do video editing on another machine for the stuff I captured from my event.

One issue about external ZIP files is that some people like to tweak them without announcement. Corrupted files(which thanks to Linksys killed a router of mine), viruses, trojans, malware, spyware, crapware and other hidden surprises.

I think if I wanted to check this out, hitting Google and putting in "mobile disco competition" would probably get some of the information you'd want people to see. As I said, it's not something of interest to ME, but I bet some of the other folks around here should probably go check it out.
