American Audio has powered subs coming out soon. Don't know the price.

$500, is that your budget for two subs, or for each?

Do you have an amplifier, or are you looking for powered speakers?

try these puppies out, loaded with a single 10" but is said to blow away 18's within the same price range and box size.

Hypnotic,
American Audio is releasing sone complete powered systems that are very nice. It's a sub, with 2 satelites. They are a little more than the $500, but a great overall set and value. Or sell your old speaks for a couple hundred and get a pair of DLS-15's or the new system.

Has anyone here built any of those speaker plans that Fobster's link goes to? I would like to hear positive/negative experiences.

i've got a pair and am really impressed with them, mine are loaded with the beta 10's though, so they can only go so loud (which is still pretty LOUD!!).. but pretty soon i'll be gettin the HL10a's in them which handle more power(which means even LOUDER!!).... total cost to build the pair was less than $200.... and yeah... they go pretty low and they sound really nice too...

if they're just covering the mids and u have subs covering the lows then they should be fine.... just have them up in the air and crossed over nicely with the subs....
