You need a text generator.

Or, you can find an LCD or flatpanel and make sure it has a DVI, HDMI or VGA input, then use it as a secondary monitor on your laption.

You can also create a DVD using static images that can display and rotate. A bit of work but the cheapest way to go.

When it comes to placing text on the screen there are a few option to consider. Chris has a good idea that will work.

If you have dual head video output on your PC and you are using Virtual DJ it has a text option that allows you to type in text and I think it has some placement options as well. I guess another question i have is what is on the screen? do you want to place text on a static image or on top of video. the answer to those questions will determ what the steps are to complete this inthe cheapest way possible.

I hope that helps and if you provide a little more info I would be more than happy to suggest what I would do.

thanx

Many laptops these days are capable of running dual-monitors off the video, using the panel as the main and the external connector as monitor 2. Your idea with VirtualDJ is certainly a viable option for many people these days.

At the rate that poster is participating, I'm sure they've already given up on the project.
