My Velocity's are basicially still new. Believe it or not this is the second time they let me down. At the momment when i Put in a CD It will read it and its ready to play. I can browse threw the tracks, Never the less... I CANT PLAY IT..it wont let me press PLAY I tried everything from getting a new CD. I put the cs on the other deck and it works FINE NO PROBLEM.. The only way i can play the CD would be by PRESSING CUE and the JOG WHEEL at the same time and without letting go of the CUE or the JOG WHEEL i will have to spin up the JOG WHEEL IF i let go of the JOG WHEEL it will stop playing. This is the second time this happens to me. The 1st time it happen to me, Right out the box i had a gig and as I was playing at the GIG the same thing happen. I returned them to the store i bought them and I they gave me some other brand new ones. After 3 months or so this happens. I have about Avg 3-4 Gigs a month. Can any one help me please.. its Thursday night and I have 2 gigs this upcoming weekend... FEROCIOUSWILLY@YAHOO.COM

Are the CD's that are giving you trouble....
Store bought?
Burned?
MP3?
Or all CD's?

Okay, whatever you do, DON'T ACCEPT NEW PIECES OF THE SAME EQUIPMENT when you take the non-functional ones back to wherever you bought them.

Tell the salesperson (or whomever) you want something that WORKS and, given your experience and patience with the brand/models you've been using, tell them you feel qualified to assume that trading for new units is not going to solve your problem. Put the burden of your expectations onto that individual. ("I want to walk out of here with something that works now and will continue to work for me." vs. "Give me such-and-such because...")

For the short run: I hate to suggest you de-construct the thing, seeing as how you're going to be returning it post-haste. There are also a couple of questions I have for you and things I would like you to try in order to pinpoint the problem. Immediately, I suspect it's one of two issues inside the unit.

Today's Friday the 1st of December. I'll be checking the email address below regularly for most of the day. Why don't we take this off-line?

As a matter a fact.. It doesen't matter if its Burned or MP3.. I X-crossed the wires so CD 1 will play with the Right player Same thing. I now know its the brain not the CD player. It seems like it worked after it went to sleep. then I woke it up (HAHA) it it played fine. i took out the cd insert another one no problem. Never the less about 15-25 minutes in It happen again...

Sam,
I don't know who you are, but that isn't a very positive post. Are you just trying to trash American Audio? I don't get it.

willy,
One more question for you, when it freezes, dows it happen to be in scratch mode? If it locks up again, try turning off the scratch mode and see if play resumes normally. If it does, it's probably one of two things. Seeing as this is the second unit you had the same problem with. I would check the electrical grounding. The unit must be properly grounded or it may malfunction. This is covered on page 14 of the manual. Let me know if it works when not in scratch mode. If so, then either it is a grounding issue or a problem with the jog wheel. I notice you are in CA, you can also try calling ADJ tech support 800 322 6337.
