I now use a Gator 10 X 6 slant top. It has one of those removable backs with a hole to run the cables through. Sometimes that hole is just too small.

My plans are to modify the case and add a 12 unit RCA strip, 2 XLR male chassis mounts, and three USB chassis mounts along the side of the case. I was thinking I would mount them near the back panel on the right side and place the XLRs at the top, the RCAs below the XLRs, and the USBs below the RCAs.

The two XLRs come from my mixer and the RCAs as well. The USBs are for the Gigaport, DAC 2, and my light controller, respectively. Of course, all of these will be labled.

This way the only reason I'll have to open the back of the case is to run the power cord through the hole. All of my other connections would be on the side.

So, what does everybody think?

Sounds good! Just make sure all audio connections are soldered. Don't trust those crimp connectors. Take pictures!

While you are at it, you should put one of those surface mount AC power inlets in there too. That way you'll never have to open the box.

One of these things:

Good luck!
