How should I arrange my collection of cd's?

By: music type, BPM, year produced, artist, song title...Whats the best method?

I want to arrange my cd's into some type of order that makes sense and is very efficient at finding them and replacing them.

I'll probably be storing them in a hard suitcase type case.

Can anyone assist me with this topic?

Thanks Roll Eyes

put them in the order that is easiest for you, what ever you feel will give you the easiest access, either alphabetical or by genre, its all up to you

Its all personal preference, and what kind of DJing you do. When I was a club DJ, 95% of the music I played was on 12" vinyl and it was a club where you beat mix all night long, so the best way for me was by BPM. Now in my mobile DJ collection, Im all CD and I sort them by music type and alphebetical by artist or if its a compilation by CD title. There's really no right or wrong way, what ever works for you. when i dj at the club, we have the vinyls sorted by BPM. The Cds are by the year and music type.

That sounds a little confusing but it works out pretty good when u r used to it.

Forever.

I have mine sorted out by the artwork on the front covers of the C.D.'s I find this works for me. Then all I do at a gig is flip through my selection of discs and go, "OOOH this one looks cool."
There is also the KAY-WAIT method of sorting your discs. You simply just pile em in a case ramdomly and when someone comes up for a request ya just go "Kay,, Wait, I think I got that,,,,,no that's not it,,,,Kay,,wait, KAY, wait here it is, No that's last years disc, It's gotta be on his newest disc,,,KAY wait, Kay Wait. No, No, No sorry I don't have that song, SORRY!!!! Would you like me to look through my selection for something else??? KAY,,wait, Kay wait,,,Where ya goin???????

I prefer putting the CDs in place by type of music. Then arrange them (in their own types) by alphabet.
